Chae was born and raised in Billings, MT where she was surrounded by inspiring, beautiful, and talented artists/educators. From a young age, Chae loved any and all forms of art. Whether she was attending a performance at Alberta Bair Theatre with her mom or participating in shows with Venture Youth Conservatory, Billings Studio Theatre, and Rimrock Opera Company, Chae was constantly involved in the culture her city had to offer.

    She remained in Billings to attain her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Arts at Montana State University - Billings. Chae also performed in an alternative-folk band called The Red Shades singing and playing piano. She loved performing live music and the life she had created in Montana, but Chae decided to further her career in theatre and film training, which lead her to New York City. There she attended the American Musical and Dramatic Academy where she studied musical theatre and graduated in 2017, where she also assisted in the costume shop.
